Juan Williams

The controversy pits candidness against political correctness:

A leftist equipped in a panoply of diversity do-gooding (black, Hispanic, immigrants, wrote a book about civil rights, etc) gets the guillotine for expressing thoughts--after prefacing them with a recitation tolerance rosary--that an overwhelming majority of Americans share:
When I get on a plane, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and they're identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.
He's termed by the putatively unbiaed NPR. Of the over $2 billion spent on public broadcasting each year, more than $800 million comes from taxpayers, about half from the federal level and half from state and local governments. This strikes me as the most convincing among a host of cogent reasons to strip the CPB of its public funding going forward. That is, kill the government feeder of PBS and NPR and let them fare as they will.

NPR is currently engaged in another round of mendicant begging, so if you regularly make a contribution, consider diverting those funds to a source that deserves them a zillion times more.

That's pretty disingenuous of Barbara Walters to get "all Muslims are terrorists" out of its converse, which has been true for all practical purposes for the United States in the 3rd millenium.

As for iSteve, being the most original voice on the web on the subject of race relations just doesn't cut it these days. You have to pepper your news stories with English voice-over narratives set against the gentle hum of speech in a foreign language. Tangentially relating everything to LGBT issues is a big sell too.

Two Jews, two blacks and an Italian/Pole arguing with an Irish Catholic about what "American" is. God what a disaster.

How about dismantling and destroying NPR and its affiliates? Fire the people, sell off the licenses, and tear it all down?

Got the two blacks. Hasselback is the Italian/Pole and O'Reilly is Irish Catholic.

But who are the two jews? Walters is one.

I think you make the very common mistake in thinking Behar is a Jew. She's Italian actually. Fooled me too.

These people can probably hardly stand actual American culture. What they'd rather it be is New York/New Jersey-type loud and obnoxious liberalism.

It had to have killed the ladies of the View to hear the audience clap for some of O'reilly's points before the big walk off.
