Campaign contributions per vote received, 2016 US presidential election

The last time the Republican candidate for president raised more money than the Democrat did was in 2004, when George Bush brought in 10% more than John Kerry.

In 2016, Hillary Clinton raised nearly twice as much as Donald Trump. The following table shows how much the top five vote-getting candidates in 2016 'paid' for each vote they received:

Whether it should be called an oligarchy, a kleptocracy, a kakocracy, a corporatocracy, or something else, the thing that rules us is of the left.

Interesting estimate of how much "earned media" that Trump received, about 5 billion.

Normally I allege that the Democrats benefit from colossal "in-kind" donations from media bias, left wing billionaire foundations, and the control of every R1 university faculty in the country except perhaps BYU which in any case this time certainly went for Egg McMuffin. But Trump fooled the media at its own game via his long experience with them, they will go for ratings and ad dollars.

In a world where there was an impartial body that imposed a real "net neutrality" on Facebook, Twitter and Google, and a real Fairness Doctrine on the universities, we'd be racking up Reagan-like margins with white voters.

216,

Paul Kersey is fond of asserting--maybe with a touch of hyperbole, but by no means entirely incorrectly--that if we had control of the nation's newspapers and cable news stations for just a single 24-hour period, we'd win. That's all it would take. The amount of Overton Window expanding and the subsequent discussions that would flow from such control would be enough to bring the whole edifice of lies crumbling down.

On a somewhat related note, the DOJ now refuses to publish interracial rape statistics. In order to make left wing politics work, it requires lying as much as possible. Pretty basic political point but it never hurts to point it out either.

I think most of that can be worked around but the GOP is too focused on black welders and latina business owners to talk about white people. This is a party that actively despises their base; they would rather get 10,000 more baste blacks to join their voter rolls than 1,000,000 white people. The big factor is that there's more at play here than winning or losing. A loyal soldier like Paul Ryan will always find work so he doesn't care about his white base.

If the GOP actually cared about white people, they would be able to find effective workarounds to make it work. It's why Trump is popular but their local congresscuck is fighting for their political life against some pee oh cee that has #AbolishICE in their Twitter profile.

Since 2015-16, Milo and McInnes have mostly dissappeared behind pay-walls, Therightstuff.biz has changed the names of its shoahs. dailystormer.name has moderated away from swastikas and never been allowed back on to any payment platform or been able to get its dot com domain back. Jared Taylor is not on Twitter despite a long running lawsuit. Ricky Vaughn was doxxed in a spate of infighting even after his Twitter Ban. Of course Alex Jones just got the full ban-hammer, even including his Applestore app! The PayPal and Patreon micro funding of most right-wing e-celebs has been cut off by the SPLC via MasterCard. The dissident right is being ghetto-ized into Gab.ai and blogs and chat servers funded by bitcoin where we vent to audiences of a few hundred and are spied on by zealous SJWs a la Discord. This tiny list does not do the massive banning and shadowban effort justice, nor does it account for those who self-censor zealously to remain in public view. Trump benefited from an internet media landscape that is now a shell of what it was in 2015-16. We won the meme-war on 4chan by having those bits of esoterica filter quickly out into Reddit and down to normie-facebook boomerville. That avenue is mostly cut off now in the name of "muh Russia"

Random Dude,

I don't think the Gary voters of 2016 want more explicit white identity politics. In the social circles of the professional class, open support of Trump will lead to ostracism. By contrast, non-whites are a useful "shield" against claims of racism. We just aren't that tribal, and many of our people want a "permission slip" from a based black. Fidesz and Jobbik combined got 70% of the vote in Hungary this year, 30% of Hungarians literally voted for people that wanted it wrecked just like Germany is. The opposition doesn't control a single Hungarian-language major media outlet, and can be explicitly tagged as foreign, but yet it still hangs on.

Random Dude,

It's tough--very tough--to admit that the number of white-on-black rapes approaches zero, nationwide.

Joe,

Glass half-empty or half-full? Ann Coulter is almost explicitly alt right and Tucker Carlson keeps moving steadily in that direction. Can they play whack-a-mole fast enough?
