Kansas City, Missouri public schools website says nearly 1200 with graduate this year.
I thought that sounded incredibly low, so I checked the private high schools. I didn't find number of graduates, so I used the number of seniors and assumed a 100% graduation rate. N=1263 I only counted those in Kansas City, Missouri. No, Kansas/Johnson County, or other towns in Missouri. Only schools in the KC MO city limits.
I knew the KC school district was bad, but this is crazy.
I googled the phrase "nearly 1200 students will graduate" and got this page:
http://www.kcpublicschools.org/Page/287
with a video and statement:
Nearly 1,200 students will graduate from the Kansas City Public Schools this year. They have earned more than $6 million in scholarships and gained admission to more than 70 colleges or universities across the nation. The graduates will attend college, embrace their technical field or begin careers. Congratulations, Class of 2012! Posted: 2012-05-15
Then I looked further and found this KC MO district high school enrollment page.

I used to do exercises like those but I kept injuring my lower back, which was worse than doing nothing at all. Now I stick with planks and similar.
Nothing wrong if it works for you, though.

I googled KC Star for info, nothing.
Anon,
That sounds impossibly low. See here.

I know. I know. I was stunned. Incredulous even.

Then I looked at wiki which noted that total enrollment as of 2010 was less than 18,000. Pre-k to 12 with some drop outs and voila 1,200 graduates.
