How four ninjas became three

A bit of innocent atrocity from my childhood, captured on VHS (back in the nineties, when people still did that sort of thing). I'm in the Bears t-shirt and shorts. Be forewarned, this video, particularly with the volume turned up, isn't for the squeamish:

Boys will be boys.

Your fighting style seems more "linebacker" than "ninja."

Surprise, surprise. I'd always assumed you were black. ;)

Jokah,

We were making a 'movie' we entitled 4 Ninjas, ripped off from the kids' movie 3 Ninjas. After the kid broke his arm, he still played a role--his arm was broken by an army of street thugs that were breaking into houses in the neighborhood!

Thankfully in real life, the kid's parents weren't even angry about what happened, as it was an accidental consequence of rough play.

An actual break, eh? That kid must have been a bit brittle. As a li'l spark I suffered many a spill much more violent than that and suffered nary a fracture, let alone a break. Did receive a concussion once from being tackled on the sidewalk while playing schoolyard football.

Ed,

It was more a result of the awkwardness of how he landed, although he wasn't naturally athletic as one can gather from watching that minute of video. Turn up the volume a little, and you'll be able to hear the bone snapping pretty clearly. It had to have really hurt, that poor kid. I was a monster!

Lesson: Never try to catch yourself. Let the body absorb the blow.

Somebody told me that years ago when I was a kid.

Same person also told me if your bike (motorcycle) is going down, don't let go of the handlebars, they will protect your hands.
