HBD, defined

Half Sigma asks "What are you doing about HBD-denialism?"

Creating definitions in the Urban Dictionary, that's what! Hey, it's something, at least. And voting these definitions to the top of their respective entries is something any reader is able to do right now, by going here and clicking on the thumbs-up for what is currently definition #7 [now at #2--keep pushing!], which reads as follows:
An acronym that stands for human biodiversity. It is the acknowledgement and study of how humans differ from each other on both the individual and group levels because of differences in genotype. Differences include, but are not limited to, personality traits, athletic ability, intelligence, height, health, and physical appearance.

"What are some things that HBD informs us on?"

"Why professional sports leagues like the NBA and NFL are dominated by people of West African descent, why blacks and Hispanics consistently perform more poorly on all forms of cognitive testing than whites and Asians do, and why the Amerindian immigrants mowing lawns in the suburbs are so much shorter than the residents of those suburbs, just to name a few."
We propelled NAM to the top in a matter of weeks, displacing the entry specifying the Southeast Asian country. The acronym for "happy birthday" is even more formidable, but I'm confident it's reign at the top is on borrowed time!

Make sure to down-thumb all the other HBD definitions, too.

I didn't want to appear uncouth in suggesting that, but it'll get us there twice as fast!

awesome! i'm gonna go vote right now. (^_^)

and don't forget: vote early, vote often. (~_^)

I agree, vote early, vote often. People take their cues from what appears to be popular. The like/dislike buttons are fairly low investment ways to influence the zeitgeist.

I once posted a similar definition to Urban Dictionary, but it was deleted after a while.

Anon,

Did you receive any explanation as to why? Some of the definitions on UD are pretty politically incorrect.

Anonymous said...

No, I didn't get any explanation. I just found out one day that it had been deleted.

Well it's the second definition now.. let's hope it stays there. If it gets the acronym and the basic idea out there it will be good.. People are noticing. Look at this recent blog post:

I think it politically wrong to link Hispanics and Blacks together. The Left did this first and are right that this is good for them. Hispanics generally want to be seen as white and that should mostly be respected.

The thing that makes Blacks so different from everyone else in the world and what causes so much animosity towards them is violence.

I love Sailer, but he just doesn't get what Southerners know in their bones: Blacks are extremely dangerous and no amount of vivaciousness can make up for it. Lumping Hispanics with them is just wrong. In central Florida, we get to experience copious amounts of both and they are nothing alike in personality and psychopathy. Hispanics always make me think of them as "Asian-lite". In other words, if I had to picture an East Asian with an I.Q. of 90, I would think he'd be very similar to a Mexican peasant.

Anon,

That's encouraging. Point and sputtering is mostly counterproductive on the internet.

Dahlia,

I get your sentiments, and similar problems arise when whites and Asians are grouped together. But I wanted to be both as inclusive and as accessible as possible in the definition offered! And in the case of NAM, it really is a more accurate way of the umbrella term "minority", which doesn't specifically refer to blacks, but rarely encompasses Asians (especially East Asians), either.

Jehu said...

NAM describes minority groups that have
a) Lower than average achievement economically
b) Affirmative action benefits showered on them and
c) Elevated crime rates relative to the white average

Thank you, Dahlia!
I live in S. Florida, which has far more Hispanics than C.Florida, but there's also a fare share of blacks as well, so I see the comparison. While it is true Hispanics underachieve in schooling and several other factors, it still mindboggles me why they're lumped with blacks. S.Florida also has a decent amount of mid to upper class Hispanics, and they have very, VERY little in common with even mid-upper class blacks, in any way, shape or form.
Hispanics have their issues, but they're not quite as impulsive, volatile and hypersensitive as blacks. If anything, Hispanics seem to have more in common with poor/prole whites, IMO.

That's really wonderful, you're making the world safe for the Eurasian nationalists and the dorky, Sinophilic, White omega males, the "Derbs" of the world.
